Who are we?
Showcase’s Story
Showcase is an amateur dramatics company based in Edinburgh – but we’re not your average group!
As a registered Scottish charity, we have one simple goal: to raise funds for charity, whilst having fun!
Each year, our incredible team takes on a wide range of challenges, from the Edinburgh Marathon Relay to Tough Mudder, The Hula Hoop Challenge to Bake Sales, our Spring and Winter Concerts and of course, our annual production at the Church Hill Theatre has also become a beloved fixture in the Edinburgh theatre calendar.
Our annual production offers an eclectic mix of musical styles and sources. From rock and pop to musical theatre and film scores, one thing is certain – there’s always something to get your toes tapping at a Showcase show.
Since we began in 1991, we’ve proudly supported Macmillan Cancer Support. To date, we’ve raised over £369,000 for this incredibly worthy cause, helping them continue their mission to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
In 2017, we were truly honored to receive the Douglas Macmillan Award. This award recognises individuals or groups who act as ambassadors for Macmillan, raise awareness in their communities, and make a significant impact in supporting their work.

“Macmillan wants to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone and, being a part of Showcase, I’m so lucky to be able to do something I love, with some of my best friends, for such a good cause, that’s very close to my heart.”
